Apartment House in Ybbsitz, Austria
Das Aigner was completed in 2006 by the Linz based studio Kleboth Lindinger Dollnig. This project included the construction of two holiday apartments, built on top of two existing garages. The apartments are set over two floors, a movable partition wall separates them, allowing for one large space if required.
Das Aigner in Ybbsitz, Austria, details by Kleboth Lindinger Dollnig:
“The Aigner, a small holiday apartment house, is built on top of two existing garages, located in a historical architectural ensemble. It respectfully bends away from the neighbouring church, widening the space in between. The wooden construction is covered with copper – a metallic membrane as reference to a region that has been known for its blacksmith tradition for centuries.
Inside the building a movable partition wall links the two apartments. The large fully glazed room created by opening the dividing wall is ideal for parties.”
